Mary Troy
Contractor 1991-1997
ConEdison 1997-2001
Entergy 2001-Present
Mary was raised in an Air Force family. After living in Colorado and New Hampshire, she relocated to New York upon learning that her uncle worked at Indian Point. She was hired as a technical specialist by a contracting firm and set about mapping electrical lines throughout Unit 1 and Unit 2. Crawling through small cable ducts-she learned about the hazards of the job. Her detailed drawings were pivotal to modifying those systems. Known for having a positive personality and strong work ethic, her coworkers called her ‘sunshine.’ She was hired as a permanent employee by ConEdison in 1997 and met her husband Mike Troy, a NYPA employee, when Entergy bought the plant in 2001. Mary went on to work in Nuclear Oversight-a department that provided independent audits to ensure the plant met regulatory requirements. In 2017 she shifted to Procurement. Her most recent role has been working as the Site VP Coordinator with plant executive Tony Vitale.
